Intensive Care Unit: The Strength of the Institute
  • 12 ICU beds each with high range bedside monitors connected with advanced wireless system to a large central monitor.
  • 6 life support machines (ventilators)
  • Central air-conditioning, joint-less Epoxy lining of wall, ceiling and floor, and large glass panels in the windows allow ample natural light in.
  • ICU beds have been customized at the specific requirement of the hospital and manufactured in Shanghai.
  • Central oxygen, suction and compressed air.
  • Bedside EEG monitoring
  • Isolation ICU for barrier nursing of patients with infections
  • Round the clock portable X-Ray, CT Scan and laboratory services including blood gas analysis.

 

Operation Theatre Suite

  • Theatre suite is designed by a Swiss Consulting Company and meets all the technical and microbiological needs of a modern operating theatre.
  • Two anaesthetising rooms and a large scrubbing bay
  • Three very spacious operating rooms.
  • Central air conditioning, 0.3 micron Hepa-filter, laminar air flow systems to makes the OT virtually germ free.
  • Fibre optic cable networking for live telecast of the surgery.
  • Theatre equipped with advanced anaesthetic and surgical equipments, including 2 operating microscopes and 3 high air powered drill systems.

 

In-patient Department: There are different kinds of accommodation to suit the different needs of the patients.

 

General Cubicle Beds: Located in the well lit and ventilated south-western corner of the hospital, it is designed to provide privacy and facilities for the relatives to stay overnight.

 

 

Cabins: The air-conditioned cabins have attached kitchenette and toilet/shower. For the comfort of the patients, they are supplied with reading lamp, cup-board and a cot for the patient's relative as well. Each cabin is complete with central oxygen and suction units, and function as high-dependency units combining both comfort and care.

 

VIP Cabins: Two twin interconnected cabins, one room for the patient and the other for relatives are situated in the VIP area of the hospital. They are air-conditioned with attached kitchenette and toilet/shower. For the comfort of the patients, they are supplied with reading lamp, television, cup-board and a bed for the patient's relative. Each cabin is complete with central oxygen and suction units, and function as high-dependency units combining both comfort and care.

 

VVIP Suite: The large VVIP room is equipped to intensive care unit level with central oxygen, suction, compressed air, ventilator and monitor. The VVIP area is conceived with security, privacy and comfort of the guest and visitors in mind. If need be, the whole VIP wing with four additional VIP cabins and the spacious lounge could be used by the valued guest.

 

High Dependency Beds: The unique design of the hospital allows ten high dependency beds to spread in the three wards, right in front of the nursing station to ensure continuous vigilance which is desired for the care of the patients occupying these beds who have been recently transferred from ICU or operating theatre. Each bed is supplied with central oxygen, suction unit and basic monitoring.

 

 

Joanne Paediatric Ward: This paediatric ward with high dependency as well as general beds is dedicated to the memory of "The Brave Heart", Joanne Gillespie and furnished with the generous donation by her parents Peter and Kathy Gillespie from Britain. Located in the pleasantly lit area in the second floor, and decorated with glass painted butterflies, a favourite of Joanne, this also offers a small play area with toys, and a small library to engage recovering children.

 

 

Out-patient Department: Spacious and pleasantly designed out-patient department caters for consultations in all the listed specialties.

 

 

Library: The spacious library opens out into a balcony with splendid view of Ganesh Himal and the Shivapuri National Conservation area. It is well connected with the operating theatre through the fibre optic cable to facilitate teaching learning activities.

 

Pharmacy: For convenience of the patients, in-house pharmacy provides all hospital supplies and medication for the patients hence avoiding delays in procurement of essential drugs and supplies.
